I have purchased 5Mbps Package but got 650kbps. Why?

I acquired a 5Mbps package but am experiencing a download speed of 650kbps. What could be the reason for this discrepancy?

So, Let’s see the answer:

First of all, we need to understand that the difference between megabit and megabyte.

When you see the packages that ISP offers that is mentioned Megabit not Megabyte.

I have purchased 5Mbps Package but got 650kbps. Why?

1 Megabyte (MB) = 8 Megabit (Mb)

So, for 5Mbps Package 650kbps is normal bandwidth.

For better understand see the below calculation

1 Megabyte (MB)/Sec = 8 Megabit (Mb)/Sec

1 Megabit/s = 0.125 Megabytes/Sec

Mbps : Megabit per second (Mbit/s or Mb/s)

MB/s: Megabyte per second

1 byte = 8 bits

1 bit = (1/8) bytes

1 bit = 0.125 bytes

1 megabyte = 10002 bytes

1 megabit = 10002 bits

1 megabit = 0.125 megabytes

Megabit per second to Megabyte per second

1 Mbps =0.125 MB/s

2 Mbps =0.25 MB/s

3 Mbps =0.375 MB/s

4 Mbps =0.5 MB/s

5 Mbps =0.625 MB/s

6 Mbps =0.75 MB/s

7 Mbps =0.875 MB/s

8 Mbps =1 MB/s

9 Mbps =1.125 MB/s

10 Mbps=1.25 MB/s
